[K4RY] Banner?

The ‘logo police’ would be a good group to show the potential banner to.
When I took the W1E QSL cards to them several years ago, the bigger concern is that AUARC would be ‘spreading the iconic images around’ (my words) with a wide coverage. They feel that non-standard stuff dilutes the University’s identification, and I can understand that.
It may be important to say to them that AUARC just intends using it for student events like O Day, inside the hallway by the radio club at 411 Broun and the like, and it isn’t something that is going to be ‘flown’ at Jordan Hare Stadium so that all the TV cameras can see it. After all, the Greek system paints all kinds of tigers and AU symbols on wrapping paper and sticks them up around Commons and Haley Center, as well as the business windows downtown.
Watch out for the trap of being required to use ‘preferred vendors’ for ‘color matching’ with the official orange and blue. Those folks who are preferred vendors typically charge a lot more for their work – much more.
Good luck. It looks nice.

A banner is a great idea, but wasn't there something about us using "AU" or "Auburn University" in our name without going through proper channels for the correct colors, etc.? Good work on the concept art!

So, speaking of getting a banner...
I emailed some sign people, and a 2’ by 5’ banner with grommets and welded edges will run us exactly $50. As many times as we’ve had Organization Days and other recruitment/information events and lamented not having nice signage at our booth, I personally think it’s worth it. I attached some “concept art” I cooked up at work, but any other ideas are always welcome, of course.
Let me know what you think, and if the majority says yes to getting a banner, we’re good to go.

Field Day 2015 was awesome. The weather was good, the food was great, the band conditions were better than expected, and we had a great turnout!
A few people stopped by to ask what we were up to (note to self: get a nice K4RY banner for next year), and we got to share amateur radio with community members and a few students (at least two of whom are interested in getting licensed now!). Also, we learned a great deal about setting up outside and how to string up antennas in trees (a first for me).
Special thanks to John Melcher (N8JUC) for loaning us antennas and an antenna tuner and to Gary Pike (KA4KBX) and his family of hams for driving over an hour to come participate and offer their expertise. Field Day was a great reminder of just how fantastic and supportive the amateur radio community is.
A few photos from Sunday can be seen on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/k4ryarc. Unfortunately, my phone died before I could get many pictures, so if anyone else has any to share, go for it!
Thank you all and 73,
