Ahhhh.... ok then.  It is the Orr also of WJHO-AM fame, too!  That would make sense, then.  


No need to dig deeper.  I was just trying to connect the dots and you have done that.

Hello,
    John Herbert Orr was a great uncle of mine. He started the Ampex magnetic 
tape business in Opelika in the mid-late 50's.  I can dig up history on him if 
needed.

Seems to me there was a gent named "John Orr" associated with the Ampex tape 
manufacturing in Opelika, too.
