Please. I have asked this once before.
This is very distracting.

I left the parts at my apartment so we haven’t had an opportunity to solder it together yet. I think it’s just as well since we’ve got a bit of material to prepare still. So far Derek, Alex, and SueAnne said they were coming. Ben may have said something about it at the last meeting but I forgot what he said. It’s from 7:30AM to 4:00PM this Saturday.

Keith Warren (AK4KO) reminded me that one of the requirements is that the scouts need to get on a radio (VHF or HF) and talk to someone for 10 minutes using proper identification techniques and q codes. Keith volunteered to get on the radio and talk to people. As a general announcement, if you can’t make it to the class on Saturday but you’d still like to help, you can get on the K4RY repeater or another frequency and talk to the scouts. There’s 14 people signed up for the class, so if we can get multiple conversations going at a time we can get them through it fairly quickly. We’ll coordinate the frequency and time in advance.

Oh this looks like a fun weekend! I may put on my scout uniform and show up for a few minutes! How is the upconverter coming along?

In case you missed it, here's what happened at tonight's AUARC meeting:

1. Merit Badge University (MBU) is this Saturday. So far, fourteen Boy Scouts have signed up to take the radio class! If you're a volunteer, meet at the Haley center by 7:30 that morning.
2. Chris made a fill-in-the-blanks worksheet for the MBU that outlines what all we'll be going over. It'll help us keep track of what all info needs to be covered while we teach. The sheet is on Google Docs; email me if you want that shared with you.
3. One of the badge requirements is for the scout to have a ten minute conversation on the radio; Keith Warren (AK4KO) has offered to stay on the repeater and talk with the scouts. Big thank you to him!
4. Recommended study guide for the general test: “No-Nonsense General Class License Study Guide" by Dan Romanchik KB6NU. It’s pretty cool, and there’s a good but quick review of everything on the test. Also, qrz.com/hamtest<http://qrz.com/hamtest> has practice tests.
5. If you're interested in taking a license upgrade test soon, let me know if next Monday works for you.
