Dear Instructors,

Please edit this email thoroughly taking account of the correct dates and forward it to your respective sections.
Make sure that you extend the "Student and Instructor Contract" Quiz till 09/09.

*****************************
Dear Students,

Here are some important notes:
In-class assignment: On Wednesday 08/29 will be the first day of in-class assignments from the Microsoft Office 2016 textbook. You must always come to class with this book because it contains a step by step directions for all the in-class exercises. The assignment page on canvas tells you all the information you need for each assignment which include the exercise(s) for the day, page numbers, files to download, files to submit, etc. Also, remember that every in-class assignment is submitted via canvas and is due on the day it is assigned but you still have until Friday of that same assignment week (by 11:00 PM) to submit without any late penalty (even though canvas might tell you that your submission is late).

MyLabIT (also MyITLab) Assignments: MyITLab assignments are due every Sunday by 11:00 PM just like the in-class assignments. The time you see on MyITLab is on Eastern time so always make sure that you turn in your assignments on time. If you make 100% on the pre-test, you don't have to take the post-test. If you make less than 100% on the pre-test and wish to improve on your grade, then you must take the training (this contains only the questions that you missed/failed) before you take the post-test. The pre-test can be taken only once while the post-test can be taken an unlimited number of times. The post-test is also used to prepare for the exams. You will have to log in every time on MyITLab to do the assignments and for all your exams so make sure that you remember your username and password.

"Student and Instructor Contract" Quiz: All students are required to take the quiz to confirm that they understand the class syllabus, expectations, and requirements as a student. It is a mandatory and ungraded quiz containing just 2 questions and can be found on the home page of canvas. Any student that doesn't take this quiz will not be allowed to take the first exam scheduled on 09/12 and there will be no makeup for such students. To prevent any problems, the quiz has been re-opened and you must take it before Sunday 09/09 by 11:59 PM.

Please email me if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
