Hi,
I want to learn veritas volume manager with Sun Storedge.
I have the books ( E-310 course). I can use SS-20, SS-5 and Blade-100.
Confused regarding buying Sun array and Veritas Volume Manager (license =
required- cannot afford).
Please advise.
thanks
Anita

It's a commercial product (like Mentor Graphics, or Ideas, or Matlab).
In order to use it, you have to have a license someplace, which usually
requires purchase. Perhaps, if you were at a University, you could
see about a class obtaining a license for a quarter for the purposes
of learning. Or perhaps you could talk to your local sales representative
for a temporary license.

2 problems.
swapvol is not a plex type, so you can't print the plex type for it
(see Record Fields in vxprint). Second is that it's not %plex, it's
%plname or %pl_name)
Maybe what you want is
vxprint -g rootdg -vht -F "%{plname}" swapvol
-
swapvol-01
swapvol-01
swapvol-02
swapvol-02
(plname will print the plex name for a plex or for a subdisk that
is part of the plex. A volume is not part of a plex, but a plex is
part of a volume. plname does not have a 'contains' relationship.)
