nothing seems to work...

i've tried vxmend, but that requires the plex to be DISABLED, how to get it
from DETACHED to disabled?

i've tried vxrecover -p, it returns:

vxvm: vxplex, erorr: volume vol03 plex vol03-01, block 31502354: plex read:
error read failure
error: i/o error on volume vol03, plex vol03-02 not attached.

vxrecover -g rootdg -V vol03 runs:
vxplex -U fsgen -g rootdg -- att vol03 vol03-02

and temporarily makes the plex ENABLED, but when it finishes, it returns it
to DETACHED/STALE.

vxvol start fails cause the volume is already started.

any other ideas?

i'm going to try to remove the disk for vol03-02 and add it manually, not
through vxdiskadm.

this is on a solaris 2.6, e450.

thank you.

Subject: veritas disk replacement

after replacing a bad disk in a multipack on a e450 at 2.6...

i,

1. set DISPLAY
2. vxdiskadm
3. replace disk, #5
4. and following the instructions through to success

?

a vxdisk list shows the disk online; it is a plex in a volume.

however, a vxprint -tvh shows the disk is DETACHED and STALE in RO state.

is there more to do to get this plex working with again and ENABLED???

thank you for your help.
