[Veritas-bu] HP LTO3 media on IBM 800GB LTO3 Tape drive?

Not like the old DDS DAT is it?  I remember my frustration between the
differences in implementation between vendors such as Wangtek and IBM
when I first started using that.   This was despite the "standards" at
the time.

Yes HP Media will work in an IBM drive and visa-versa. LTO is an
independent hardware standard that all manufacturers must adhere to and
qualify for.  If you bought name brand media and it didn't work in a
known working drive from a different manufacturer I'd return that media
to the manufacturer for a full refund immediately.

So that means the IBM LTO3 Drive can even read/write HP LTO3 and HP LTO2
tape but read only for HP LTO1.

My main concern here is becoz the tape drive is from IBM but the media
is from HP.
