Thanks to everyone for their help. I forgot that CentOS enables the
Firewall by default, so I just had to tweak that.

We have about 5 centos 3 boxes that get backed up just fine with
netbackup 5.1 MP2.
Perhaps the problem lies elsewhere.
Use bpclntcmd to verify network connectivity with netbackup:
Master -> Client:
bpclntcmd -ip <Client IP Address>
bpclntcmd -hn <Client Name>
bpclntcmd -self
Client -> Master:
bpclntcmd -ip <Master IP Address>
bpclntcmd -hn <Client Name>
bpclntcmd -self
