[Veritas-bu] NB5.0MP3 on Sol8 with Win2003 clients.. backups stalling

I found two ways to disble VSP. The bpclient command may only work on
Windows master Server.
For some reason in 5.x the VSP on the client properties does not let you
enable/disable VSP.

To disable VSP there are 2 ways I found:

On the netbackup master/media server:

1. open a dos prompt and cd to the following location: <veritas install
path>\netbackup\bin\admincmd

2. bpclient.exe -client <client_name> -update -WOFP_enabled 0
(0=disable 1=enable)

Second method i found out is to go and change the setting in the following
location:

<veritas_install_path>:\netbackup\db\client\<client_name>\HOST_INFO

Hope that helps.

backups stalling

If you go into Host Properties -> Master Servers
Then select your master -> right click -> Properties
Then Select "Client Attributes"

If you added a client name in there, you will get all the options...to
use VSP vs. VSS, to enable, disable, fail or continue on VSP failure,
etc, etc.

As an additional data point....seems mine always stall during the System
State backup...
