5.0 has been fun, like all Veritas new releases are fun. The new
features are great! I really like the DSSU stuff. Hoping to start
playing with the Advanced client piece and get rid of some of my SAN
Media servers. I've got it running in 1 Solaris environment and 1 AIX
environment. Each are small (by the standards here). Solaris has 12
media servers. AIX has 1 media server. We've seen more issues with
Solaris than AIX. But, I've worked through most of them. If you ever had
any concern that your Master server was undersized, don't upgrade to 5.0
until you put it on new hardware.
And FWIW, MP1 sucks. It's made things worse instead of better.... So if
you do put it in, put it in as GA.
HTH,
Kate

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Anyone live with Veritas 5.0
Hello,
does anyone have a live environment with netbackup 5.0?
Any bigger problems? As far as I know you cannot buy 4.5 for long, so I
have to consider rolling out 5.0
Best Regards
Martin
