E450 w/ 18GB disks

Hi

Does anyone know of any problems with the Sun E450 and vxvm 2.5? I have
seen instances of the 450 addressing the internal cage differently from
machine to machine, but this is the first time I wanted to use Volume
Manager on it.

The entire config is 8 internal 18 GB disks, and one external multipack with
6 * 18GB disk. Solaris sees them as c0 c3 and c4 for the internals, and the
multipack as c2. However, vxinstall uses c0, c1, c2, and c3, with c1
apparently the multipack. Then when it probes the individual controllers,
I am told c1 has no disks. If I just initialize a few disks, say on c0,
and once rebooted do a vxdisk list, I can see the c1 disks, listed
individually in the errored state. Trying to vxdiskadd each of them fails.

OS REV = 2.5.1 11/98 kernel rev -19

Thanks in advance -
