quotas on Veritas VxFS

We have just taken delivery of a Sun E450 driving some A1000 storage
arrays. In the past on our fileservers we have happily used Solstice
DiskSuite 4.x . But on this one we intend to use Veritas File System
because of its increased functionality. This is our first experience of
VxFS, so I may be missing something obvious. Be gentle with me...
[ Aside: although we would have preferred to use Solaris 7, we are using
2.6, because the combination of Sun's Raid Manager 6.1.1U1 and Solaris 7
seems fiendishly complicated and error-prone. Also, although most of
Veritas (except NFS accelerator) is apparently verified for Solaris 7,
Sun's version of Veritas is apparently only verified for Solaris 2.6 .
Hence the 2.6 rather than 7 . ]
Sun supplied us with VxFS version 3.2.4, although I understand they now
support (and indeed recommend) 3.2.6 , so I intend to upgrade. (Any
gotchas to be wary of?)
VxFS looks very nice: I like the ability to resize without copying and
without getting stale NFS filehandles on clients.
But I have hit two problems with quotas:
1. The rquotad (handling quota queries form NFS clients) cannot see
VxFS quotas. I understand from Sun that this is a known bug.
2. What is the C programmatic interface to VxFS quotas (the equivalent of
quotactl(7I) for ordinary UFS filesystems)? quotactl() appears
not to work. Where is the programmatic interface documented?
(This gets used both in the Perl Quota module (we have 1.1.2) and in
the samba "--with-quotas" option.)
Your hints and direction-pointers, particularly on "2" above, would be
most welcome!
