Volume Manager Re-Configuration Question

I have been assigned a project to reconfigure some Volume Manager (2.5)
slices for Oracle databases. First of all there are several volumes that I
can remove. No problem there. Unfortunately all these volumes are made up
of several small sub disks (from 150 MB to 250 MB). The array is also full.
So new disks are not an option. The new volumes need to be 3 GB, 1 GB and
500 MB. Its the 3 GB and 1 GB that I had concerns about. If I make the 3
GB partition out of several of those small sub disks, will that be a problem
structurally or performance wise? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.
