moving volumes/disks between systems

I have disks that are mirrored, and the SSA dual-hosted to 2 systems.
I would like to temporarily break the mirror of a couple of volumes, 
deport them from the 1st system and import them to the 2nd system so
we can do some work on it.  Then later move them back to the 1st system
and re-sync.

Question: looking over the Vol Mgr (v2.4) manuals, it seems we can only
move disk groups between systems, not volumes, not disks.  Is this true?
