HA comparison comments

to the appropriate archive.

We are looking at SGI and Sun's HA solutions.

For the SGI, we have been quoted pricing for:
	Two of the following:
	    Origin 2000 DS, 2XR10K, 180MHz, 1MB
	    Cache, 256 MB memory, 4.5 GB sys disk

	FibreVault with 10 8.8GB FC RAID disks
	High Availability bundle for the Origin cluster 
	IRIS Failsafe

For the SUN, we are still awaiting pricing info, but
are thinking of:
	Two 3000 systems with comparable configs.
	RSM Array 2000
	Solstice HA
Most of our servers within our laboratory are Sun. We have 
no experience with SGI servers. Does anyone know how these
latest products compare? What has been the experience with 
service from SGI?
