[Ncame-students] 17-4 Powder information

I don't think so. However, if we don't mix the new powder with the previous one, it would be safer.

Pooriya

And this won't cause any mixing of powder with different chemistry?

So far, I have this:

[cid:image006.png at 01D64890.0AD4B150]

The Navy STTR previous fabrication was done with B3'/3". Therefore, Arun and Rakish can use the available 35 kg, and mix it with the new purchase (UK85583--> 50 kg) and finish all their fabrications as Pooriya mentioned they have almost similar chemical compositions.

Nabeel has used the current powder inside the machine which is a different batch (UK85363). Currently, we have around 35-40 left inside the machine, and if we order the additional 30 kg from Carpenter (They only have this amount left), he should be able to finish his prints.

For my project, I can go with the same powder left after Rakish's fabrication (85 kg mixed of B3', 3" and UK85583). If it was not enough, probably later we can order again some more of UK85583.

Just to add, Shahryar also mentioned we have 45 kg of B4 in the powder room (I believe it is the same powder used in 17-4 Powder Study).

Therefore, I think we need to order that 50+30 kg of powder complete our projects.

Thanks,
Arash

We should have about 45Kg of mix of B3, 3', and 3" left. Shaharyar is checking it at the moment and we will update quickly.

Do we have any B2,3,3',3'' left?

Arash,

Although there are slight differences, Batch UK85583 (attached file) is quite similar to B2,3,3',3'' we had before. The other one is not similar to any of the previous powder we had.

Pooriya

Hey all,

We are in the process of purchasing powder and we need to know how much exactly we need. Therefore, I am sending this email to ask how many prints you have with 17-4 PH SS left? What is the tallest height in each of your prints? if you have fabricated some sets of specimens for that project, and you need to have similar powder, please specify the powder that was used before as well. I have prepared a table in this email. Please fill it out and send it to me. Please each person sends a new table for himself.

@Pooriya<mailto:pzd0022 at auburn.edu> would you please check these powder chemical compositions and let us know how different they are?

@Shaharyar<mailto:sab0131 at tigermailauburn.mail.onmicrosoft.com> would you please send me a brief table showing what type of 17-4 and how much of each batch do we have? You don't need to include EOS 17-4 powder in your table.

Please consider giving me all details as soon as you can.

Very Respectfully,
Arash
