Greetings to All SET Team members,

Attached to this email is our SET Plan. Since we have severe weather moving into today, our deployment

will involve actually reporting and weather spotting. While this is an actual deployment, we will also use the

approaching inclement weather to familiarize operators on how to operate in an actual severe weather environment

using proper radio reporting procedures. This will be actual storm spotting event and an actual deployment.

IF you have severe weather observations, it will be relayed to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Remember, many people listen to amateur radio who are not hams. With actual severe weather moving

in, remain calm in your reporting and report exactly what is asked of you at your location.

We do not want to cause any public panic or flood 911 or the EMA with inquiries from the public.

This is primarily an actual storm spotting deployment along with a secondary objective of training.

You have trained for this. Now, let’s put your training to work for our communities and served agencies.

When reporting to your assigned agency location, you may choose to remain in your car and report your

observations when requested the Net Control Station. You may go inside the building for safety reasons

if you feel the need to do so. Do not jeopardize your life to make an weather observation from outdoors if

you feel it is NOT safe to do so. Personal safety of the observer takes precedence over all other considerations.

If your building is inaccessible, you may relocate to a safer location. Notify NCS if you leave your assigned
