[K4RY] Meeting Minutes 1 September 2015

Good afternoon,


I've attached the minutes from last night's meeting.  Another huge thanks to Mike Watkins for coming and speaking to us!  An exciting topic that came up after the main meeting was the special Yaesu is running on repeaters right now: just $500 for a club to purchase the DR-1X (http://www.yaesu.com/).  We're working on getting the paperwork through to snag one of these repeaters; updates to come soon.


Also, I met with some people from Auburn University's Department of Public Safety and Security today.  They're very interested in partnering with us for National Preparedness Month!  They'll have a two tables out on the Haley Concourse from 10:00 to 14:00 on September 21st, 23rd, and 24th: one table for them to hand out pamphlets about preparedness and what to do during emergencies on campus and one table for us to operate radios, do recruitment, and talk about the importance of ham radio in emergency situations.  If you're interested in helping out by staffing the table any of those days, let me know!


Lastly, the net this Sunday will be on the 2m repeater (because Sunday is the 6th and 6 is an even number) at the usual times (19:45 early check-in and 20:00 net start).
