Dear All,

Prof. Tao Shu in the Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at Auburn University has immediate openings for two highly self-motivated undergraduate students to join his Wireless Networking and Security (WINGS) Lab as REU students in the Summer and Fall semesters of 2020. The students are expected to work on cutting edge research projects related to mmWave sensing, learning, cognition, and networking that are sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Each undergraduate student is expected to work full time (40 hours per week) during the summer (till 08/15/2020) and half time (20 hours per week) during the fall semester (from 08/16/2020 to 12/31/2020) at a rate of $10 per hour.

Candidate qualifications: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and must be currently enrolled as a fulltime undergraduate student in a U.S. higher education institution. Candidate’s expected graduation date cannot be earlier than 12/31/2020.

In addition to above mandatory requirements, an idea candidate should be studying in one or more of the following undergraduate programs: Computer Science, Software engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Wireless Engineering, or any closely-related area of the above. Other desired qualifications include good mathematical and programming skills, and some system development skills. Prior coursework and/or research experience in wireless networking is not required but will be helpful.

Application process: Interested undergraduate students should email your resume/CV as a single pdf file to Prof. Shu tshu at auburn.edu<mailto:tshu at auburn.edu>. Female and under-represented groups are especially encouraged to apply. Please list your GPA and any qualifications (e.g., courses taken, projects, publications, past research experience, etc.) that you believe will help your application in your resume/CV. The application cutoff date is 06/25, but strong candidates may be contacted/offered early (so please don’t wait. Send your application as early as possible). A Zoom interview may be held with selected applicants to make a hiring decision.
